Frequently asked questions
Everything people usually want to know before using the downloader.
Which platforms are supported?
Public videos from YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. That includes YouTube Shorts, Facebook Watch links and Reels, and Instagram Reels, video posts and IGTV. Anything that requires signing in - private accounts, Stories, members-only or age-restricted videos - is not processed.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install. Paste a link, choose a quality, and the file downloads to your device.
Why do I not see 1080p for every video?
We only list qualities that the platform actually serves for that specific video. Many platforms deliver higher resolutions as separate video and audio streams; when our server is set up to combine them, those options appear too. If a resolution is missing, it genuinely is not available for that video through this service.
What file format do I get?
MP4 wherever the platform offers it, because it plays on virtually every phone, tablet and computer. Some videos are only served as WebM. Audio-only downloads come as M4A or WebM audio.
How long does it take?
Reading the video details usually takes a few seconds. The download itself then depends on the file size and your own internet connection.
Am I allowed to download any video?
No. You may only download content that you own, that you have permission to download, or that is offered under a licence which allows it. Downloading copyrighted material without permission is not allowed and is your responsibility, not ours. Please read the Terms of Use and the Copyright / DMCA policy.
Do you store the videos or my links?
No. Nothing is kept on our servers after your download finishes. We keep an anonymous counter of how many requests succeeded or failed so we can spot outages - it contains no links, no titles and no personal details.
It says the video is private or unavailable. Why?
The service only works with content that is publicly viewable without logging in. If a video is private, restricted to certain regions, age-gated, members-only, or has been removed, it cannot be processed - and we will not attempt to work around those restrictions.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The site is built mobile-first and works in Chrome, Safari and other modern mobile browsers. On iPhone, saved files land in the Files app; on Android they go to your Downloads folder.
Is it free?
Yes, the service is free to use. The site is supported by advertising.
